New Indian Time in 3000m Steeplechase | Parul Chaudhary breaks the 3000m steeplechase national record

New Delhi: Parul Chaudhary became the first Indian woman to finish the 3000m steeplechase in less than nine minutes. He completed the race in 8:57.19 minutes at the Sound Running Sunset Tour held at Jack Kemp Stadium in Los Angeles. The national record of 9:04.5 minutes set by Tamil Nadu’s Surya Lokanathan was broken at the 2016 New Delhi Grand Prix. Parul finished third behind China’s Wuga Hek and America’s Fiona O’Keefe.
