One that combines Evo and STO
Lamborghini Huracán Technica was opened to the public at the “Milan Monza Open Air Motor Show”, an outdoor car show held in Italy every June. The event took place this year from June 16th to 19th.
The Huracán Technica is a new supercar with a styling similar to the Cyan FKP 37. It is one that closes the gap between the conventional Huracan Evo and Huracan STO, and the price is undisclosed, but it is expected to be around 30 million yen.
Chief Technology Officer Ruben Mall, who returned from Audi to Lamborghini this year, describes Urakan Technica as “a combination of both Evo and STO models.”
The range of driving modes is wide, “Strada” is a relatively loose cruising mode like Evo, and “Corsa” is an aggressive mode close to STO. In the middle “sports” mode, Mr. Mohr says that he can enjoy oversteer that was not available in modern Lamborghini.
Technica is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.2L V10 engine with a maximum output of 640ps, a 7-speed dual clutch, and an electronically controlled limited slip differential. Like the STO, it drives only the rear wheels.
Extreme yet easy-to-use setting
The newly designed 20-inch wheels will be fitted with semi-slick Bridgestone sports tires. Carbon ceramic brakes are standard, but unlike STO, the setting emphasizes comfort.
The exhaust system is unique, and it is said that the sound quality of the engine in the middle and high speed range is improved compared to STO.
In addition, the rear wheel steering system was introduced as in the STO, and stability and maneuverability were improved by brake-based torque vectoring and adaptive traction control. The dynamics are managed by the Lamborghini Dynamica Veikolo Integrata, the “brain” of the Huracan that was adopted by Evo in 2019.
Aerodynamics have also been significantly enhanced, though not as much as the STO. The overall length is 61mm longer than the Evo, and in terms of aerodynamics, the rear downforce has been increased by 35% and the drag has been reduced by 20%. In addition, the vehicle weighs 1379 kg, which is 10 kg lighter than the Evo RWD.
0-100km / h acceleration 3.2 seconds Overwhelming performance
At the top of the engine room is a flat carbon fiber cover. The rear window is also laid out in consideration of visibility.
Below the taillights, there are large openings on both sides of the hexagonal exhaust pipe to dissipate the heat of the engine room.
The 0-100km / h acceleration is 3.2 seconds, the 0-160km / h acceleration is 9.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is 327km / h.
Overall, Urakan Technica, like its recent models, demands a high level of driver involvement in addition to Lamborghini’s unique design and performance.
In this respect, there is no shortage of rivals such as Porsche 911 GT3, McLaren Artura, Maserati MC20, Ferrari 296 GTB.
