Bishop Jeong, who was born in Daegu in 1961, graduated from Seoul National University College of Engineering and later entered the path of a priest.
He was ordained a priest at the Incheon Abbey of the Carmelites in 1992, and received a master’s degree from the Pontifical Bible College in Rome.
Appointed as an assistant bishop of the Archdiocese of Seoul in 2013, he received the episcopal order the following year, and has served as the deputy bishop of the diocesan area in charge of the western Seoul area and youth and religious congregations.
