It was found that the cost of serving dinner in Seoul on this Lunar New Year holiday was 210,000 won at traditional markets and 270,000 won at large marts, respectively.

On the 16th, the Seoul Agro-Fisheries and Food Corporation announced the results of a survey on the cost of purchasing for a family of 6 to 7 people for the Lunar New Year event in 22 places, including traditional markets, large marts, and Garak Market, in 7 districts in 5 districts and living areas in Seoul.

According to this, traditional markets cost 214,753 won and large marts 268,549 won. The traditional market was about 20% cheaper. Compared to last year’s Lunar New Year holidays, they rose 1.7% and 2.6%, respectively.

The purchase cost of Garak Mall, which is located in Garak Market, which has a low cost, was 208,875 won, which was 3% and 22% lower than those of traditional markets and large marts, respectively.

In the traditional market, fruit prices were on average 11% cheaper than that of large supermarkets, radish and Chinese cabbage were 6% cheaper, and livestock products such as beef, pork and broilers were 24% cheaper.

On the other hand, the price of rice and some processed products (wheat, etc.) at large supermarkets was relatively low.

The prices of livestock products and vegetables (fern, bellflower) have risen from last year in all places of purchase, while prices of fruits (apples, pears) and some vegetables (green onions, zucchini) have fallen.

Converting the results of this survey to the cost of a small table for three to four people, it is expected that it will cost about 130,000 won at a traditional market and 160,000 won at a large mart.

The corporation predicted that the price of agricultural, fishery and livestock products (based on Garak Market) this Lunar New Year would continue to stabilize if some items were excluded.

In particular, the production and storage of apples and pears increased compared to the previous year due to less weather damage last year.

However, it is analyzed that the price of radish and cabbage among vegetables is higher than usual due to decreased production due to a decrease in cultivated area and poor cropping conditions, and the price of beef and pork is on the rise due to an increase in domestic demand.

In consideration of the possibility of price fluctuations, KDHC always discloses the prices and transaction trends of major consumption items on the KDHC website before the Lunar New Year holidays.
