[News Highlights]Xi said that the anti-corruption did not succeed, and the military leader persuaded him to abdicate | Xi Jinping | Beijing epidemic | “Zero” policy

[EpochTimesJanuary192022]Hello everyone, welcome everyone to pay attention to “News Watch”, I am Li Muyang. Today is Tuesday, January 18th, ET, and Wednesday, January 19th, Asia Pacific.

Today’s focus: Military leaders cooperate to persuade Xi to abdicate? Why did Xi admit that the anti-corruption campaign failed? Oder double poison attacked Beijing, the authorities bowed to the virus? Tianjin Hi-Tech was closed and controlled, and “Sister Qingling” was pushed to be cleared again; Xiqing migrant workers were arrested and beaten just to ask for a pack of instant noodles.

The Citizen Lab, a digital security research institute at the University of Toronto, released a report on the 18th, pointing out that the “anti-epidemic software” that Beijing Winter Olympics requires players from all over the world to install – “My 2022” has security risks and may lead to network intrusions.

Reuters quoted three people familiar with the matter as saying on the 18th that the Biden administration is reviewing Alibaba’s cloud business. The probe focuses on how Alibaba stores data on U.S. customers, including personal information and intellectual property, and whether the Chinese government has access to that data.

The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. shareholders of U.S. start-up Icon Aircraft accused Chinese investors of improperly transferring “leisure-use aircraft” technology to China that could have military uses. The FBI and foreign investment review agency have launched an investigation. “Icon” specializes in the production of amphibious light sports aircraft. Shanghai Pudong Technology Co., Ltd. holds nearly 47% of the shares and is the single largest shareholder.

On the 18th, former Japanese Deputy Defense Minister Yasuhide Nakayama delivered a video speech at the “Taiwan-Japan Security Partnership Forum”. He said that in the face of the CCP’s use of force and economy to change the status quo and interfere in the internal affairs of various countries, Japan needs to take action. Nakayama Taixiu believes that the time has come to formulate the Japanese version of the “Taiwan Relations Act”.

Mainland media reported that Wang Jiong, chairman of the Chongqing Municipal Political Consultative Conference of the Communist Party of China, was giving a speech at the opening ceremony of the Chongqing Two Sessions on the 16th. An online video showed that Wang Jiong made a “coo dong” sound when he fell to the ground, causing an uproar in the audience.

As of January 18th at 2:00 pm EST, 2,457,251 people were newly diagnosed with the CCP virus (Wuhan virus, new coronavirus) in the world, and the total number of confirmed cases reached 331,362,580; 5,234 people died in a single day, accumulatively The total number of deaths was 5,563,425.

Enter today’s topic below. There are two parts to today’s topic. The first is the epidemic situation in Beijing and Tianjin, and there are still many revelations. Judging from Beijing’s response measures, Xi Jinping seems to be bowing his head to the virus.

Then I will talk about an abnormal speech made by Xi Jinping today, in which he overturned the claim of “victory” in anti-corruption three years ago. What happened behind the scenes? Some military sources said that someone wrote a letter to Xi Jinping, asking him not to be re-elected.

Is there a Delta epidemic prevention policy or change?

The Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported today (18th) that as of 3 days in the afternoon, there were 2 new local confirmed cases of the CCP virus and 1 nucleic acid positive case in Beijing. Two of the confirmed cases of Omicron infection were in Haidian District. They were close contacts of Li Mouchu, a confirmed case reported on the 15th, one was her mother and the other was her colleague. Another positive case was in Chaoyang District, which was infected with the Delta variant.

The positive case reported by the authorities is quite noteworthy. The patient lives in Shigezhuang Village, Pingfang Township, Chaoyang District, and went to Beijing to work in November last year. Symptoms of a cold appeared on the 14th. Yesterday (17th), the diagnosis was positive, and the specific mutation site of the delta variant strain was detected.

As we all know, before this, Beijing has not notified the infected person of delta variant strain. So where did this patient get the infection? The Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention did not specify.

Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told CCTV in November last year that the average incubation period of the delta variant is 4.4 days, and most people will not exceed 7 days. The patient entered Beijing earlier, arriving in Beijing in November. Therefore, it is certain that he could not have been infected before entering Beijing.

In other words, the patient must have arrived in Beijing and was only infected recently. This proves that the delta virus has been circulating in Beijing for a long time, but we have not heard any case reports in Beijing. In other words, Beijing is hiding the truth of the epidemic.

Next, we need to pay attention to see what kind of flow survey results Beijing will announce. I estimate that the authorities are likely to continue to blame the disease, saying that the source of the disease was imported from abroad.

However, this time the pot is not easy to dump, because the patient is a migrant worker and has little connection with overseas. So let’s pay attention and see how the pot in Beijing is thrown. We also need to see if Beijing’s epidemic prevention policy has changed. Is it taking advantage of the attack of Omi Kejong to fish in muddy waters, borrow a donkey to get off the slope, and admit to “coexisting with the virus”?

In fact, Beijing’s response to the Omicron variant shows that the authorities are quietly changing the epidemic prevention policy.

Ice rinks and playgrounds are closed outside Beijing, loose and tight inside

Regarding the two confirmed patients in Omicron, the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported relatively detailed information today (18th).

The report stated that Li Mouchu’s mother lived in Boya West Garden, Haidian District, and was sent to a centralized isolation point on the 15th. He developed symptoms such as fever and throat discomfort yesterday, and was subsequently diagnosed. He is currently being treated in isolation in a designated hospital. Before the quarantine, he took a bus, dined with colleagues, and visited a skin hospital.

Li Mouchu’s colleague lives in the first phase of Baiwang Jasmine Garden in Haidian District and works on the same floor. He was isolated at home on the 15th. He developed a fever yesterday and was diagnosed immediately. He is currently being isolated and treated in a designated hospital. Before the quarantine, I took the subway to and from get off work, and I also visited coffee shops and convenience stores. At present, the first phase of Baiwang Jasmine Garden has been closed, and it is required to “stay at home”.

Judging from the trajectory of the two new cases, their contacts are also quite extensive. With Omicron’s communication ability, the situation in Beijing is even more bleak. In particular, they often take buses and subways, which increases the possibility of spreading the virus.

But on the surface, it does not seem that there is much closure and control in Beijing. But is this the truth?

A Beijing netizen introduced in today’s (18th) revelations that her husband returned to Beijing from a business trip in Jiangsu yesterday, “everything is normal”, except for checking the nucleic acid certificate, there are no extra procedures. But then netizens introduced a situation.

At noon on the day the first patient was diagnosed in Beijing (15th), netizens were with friends. The friend tossed the mobile phone group and heard a woman’s voice. “Let’s see, this ice rink is closed,” the woman said.

The woman also said that her husband asked her where she had been on the phone. When she learned that she hadn’t been anywhere, her husband said, “That’s good, don’t move around, just be honest.” The friend of the netizen also showed the netizen the photos of the ice rink before and after the seal, saying “reliable, that person’s husband is a policeman”.

The netizen said in the email, “What I want to say is that Beijing has dispatched a large number of police officers to blockade and track down risk areas and risk people, but they don’t say it. In the past few days, I have also seen news that Beijing has closed some playgrounds. Doing it quietly, but not publishing it.”

According to the “Hong Kong 01” report, many scenic spots in Beijing have issued notices to suspend their opening to the outside world. These include Juyongguan Great Wall Scenic Spot, Beijing Baiyun Temple, Lama Temple, 2 Lingguang Temples, 4 Dabei Temples, Beijing Fire Temple and Guanghua Temple, etc.

Judging from the information disclosed by netizens and the authorities’ approach to closing attractions, Beijing is now adopting the approach of loosening the outside and tightening the interior. Quietly block some risk areas, but whitewash the peace to the outside world. The purpose of this is to ensure the holding of the Winter Olympics.

But in fact, the Beijing Winter Olympics have already been hit.

Oder double-drug attacked Xi Jinping and bowed his head to the virus?

The Beijing Municipal Health Commission announced today (18th) that two kinds of epidemics were spreading in Beijing at the same time, which means that Beijing’s epidemic prevention measures have failed, and it once again proves that the authorities’ “clearing policy” has completely failed.

Today’s Beijing is facing the front and back of the two variants of the CCP virus, Omicron and Delta. Although the number of cases reported by the authorities is small, it has also turned Beijing into a “dual poison” city.

Yesterday (17th), the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee announced that in order to “protect the health and safety of Olympic-related personnel and spectators”, tickets for the Winter Olympics will no longer be sold publicly, and spectators will be organized to watch the games on-site. In other words, there will be no free public watching in the Winter Olympics venues.

The Winter Olympics organizing committee did not say where the “spectators” came from. However, according to the CCP’s past practices, the so-called “audience” is likely to come from the CCP government staff, sponsors, or political and legal officials. They may all have to go through a 21-day quarantine before they can enter the venue.

Before that, Beijing’s top authorities had desperately sought to fill the venues. However, as the epidemic situation is getting more and more serious, especially in the case of the double poisoning of Oder, the Xi Jinping authorities have to bow to reality.

However, this is only one of the factors. The main reason behind it is that the authorities use the spread of the virus to prevent possible situations in the stadium.

I mentioned in the program two days ago that some human rights activists called on American athletes to protest to the CCP on the field. There are many reasons for the protests, including the Peng Shuai incident, human rights in Xinjiang, Hong Kong issues, and more.

Of course, the CCP is very afraid of emergencies. If there are American athletes protesting in the stadium, after ordinary people see it, it may spread to the international community. And arranging “one’s own people” to enter the stadium to watch, this risk is much smaller. Of course, this is only in theory. In fact, many people in the CCP system are just looking for errands, and their hearts are different from the CCP.

High-tech sealing and control “Sister Clearing” pushes to clear again

Next, let’s look at the situation in Tianjin. Yesterday (17th) I quoted internal news from Tianjin netizens that Tianjin may reach “zero” on the 20th. Before I said this news, I was wondering if “Sister Qingling” came to Tianjin?

Sure enough, the CCP official media reported that Sun Chunlan, vice premier of the CCP, was conducting research in Tianjin from the 12th to the 17th. She stated that she would promote Jinnan District to implement “door knocking operations” and social “zeroing”, and promote that risk personnel “should be separated from each other, cleaned up and closed daily.”

Yesterday (17th) evening, I received the No. 18 “unpublished” document from the Tianjin Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters from a netizen. Among them, the “overall goal” emphasized is to make overall arrangements for the whole city, and to carry out the “knock-knock operation” without missing a single household or person, so as to lay a solid foundation for the “social clean-up”.

[Original sound video]It’s over, I’m on the “door magnet”, how do you fix it? The lack of virtue, the lack of great virtue. xxxxx, how many are we?

This is what Tianjin netizens sent to me this morning (18th). Netizens don’t know when the authorities installed “door magnets” on all doors. Netizens asked, “What are they doing?”

In fact, it is clear that the authorities are completely controlling the people who are at home. As long as the door is opened, the “door sensor” will automatically alarm, and the epidemic prevention personnel will appear soon. The Li Hongzhong authorities used high technology to block people’s movements. This approach is actually part of the “social zero”.

Authorities have taken people they consider to be at risk to centralized isolation in different places, and locked low-risk people at home. In either case, people will be looked at to death.

In addition to high-tech bans, the authorities have also arrested many “strong men” to be so-called “volunteers”. Using a man-to-man method, a layer of confinement is added to the people in the epidemic area.

This morning (18th), I received a news from a Tianjin netizen. Tianjin began to dispatch “volunteers” from various places to go to Jinnan District and other places with severe epidemics to provide support. Among them, only Tanggu District of Binhai New Area will dispatch 450 people.

From this information, it can be seen that the authorities are again “concentrating their efforts on big things”. But what is hidden behind this “big event”?

What do foreigners eat?Migrant workers were arrested and beaten for saying that

Yesterday (17th) late at night, a Tianjin netizen said to me, “Mr. Li, Tianjin people are pitiful, please give me an appeal.” The email attached an overhead video, showing that many people gathered together, and the sound of the scene was very loud. Noisy, shoving seems to have occurred.

Just when I was about to check the relevant information, seven other netizens broke the news to me at almost the same time. All these leaked emails stated that yesterday evening, a riot broke out in Chilonglanyuan Community, Dasi Town, Xiqing District, Tianjin.

[Original sound video]The villagers in this city went downstairs to collect vegetables, and they also distributed things.

According to netizens, after the local lockdown, the authorities distributed some food to the locals, but the migrant workers in the area had nothing. And these foreigners have no jobs and no food, so they went to the local government to negotiate.

【Original Video】What do people out of town eat? What do foreigners eat?

[Original video]Mask man: Isn’t that the two questions? (How to solve it?) How to solve the problem of housing, we will coordinate with the landlord, and we will definitely let you live directly until the epidemic is fully lifted. it’s OK? (Row).

The question of eating, listen to me (one by one), let’s talk one by one, we will still have the nucleic acid test at 7 o’clock tomorrow. (Regardless of the city and the field, right?) Is it OK? Ok? (OK), OK, let’s go. (How much to take? How long to take? How about taking a bucket?)

Choose a representative, choose a representative, (no representative, I represent myself) 10 masks per person tomorrow, (no representative, no one dares).

Mask policeman: Listen, listen, listen, a few questions, one is housing, the village will coordinate with the landlord to let you live until the lockdown is lifted, do you understand? (Pay? Pay? Pay or not? Pay or not?) Ask the landlord. (When it’s time to leave, you won’t be able to leave if you don’t pay it. If you don’t make money, how can you afford to pay the rent?) I owe it, I owe it. (What do you owe?)

The second one is to do nucleic acid at 7 o’clock in the morning tomorrow, do you hear that? (I heard) Do nucleic acid with an ID card, and say the important thing three times: bring an ID card. After the nucleic acid is done, I get instant noodles with my ID card. Have you heard this? (I’ll get a bucket tomorrow, or every day? What’s the matter? You made it clear.)

The West Garden, we refer to the West Garden, is also a bucket. (Xiyuan posted it long ago, how can I refer to it?) Big brother, I can’t buy it. I just came here after I bought it. (This way, we are done eating?) After we finish eating, let’s pass this meal first. I know that I will do nucleic acid tomorrow, but I don’t know if I will do it the day after tomorrow, right? I only know to do nucleic acid tomorrow, but I don’t know whether to do it the day after tomorrow. Let’s go step by step, and you told me that next year is not over yet? Do I care if you can’t finish your meal until next month? Right, let’s go step by step and solve the problem step by step. You make me promise now, which one do I promise? I promise that there will be no epidemic tomorrow, do you believe it?

This was part of the negotiation between the two sides, but then there was a conflict between the police and the people. Netizens introduced in the text that the police arrested the man standing on the roof of the car, and many people at the scene were shouting “the police beat people”.

[Original sound video]The police beat people and knocked them down.

These are the situations that netizens broke the news. I have not received any updated news, and I don’t know what the final result of the matter will be. But in fact, it is conceivable that the CCP’s consistent handling method is that when someone raises a problem, the person who raises the problem will be solved.

Think about it, aren’t foreigners just people? After being banned, they may need help more than the locals. But the local government only distributes things to the residents of the city, while the migrant workers have nothing. Shouldn’t they ask “what do foreigners eat” when they are hungry?

The requirements of those migrant workers are very low, they are only guaranteed to receive a bucket of instant noodles. With a bucket of instant noodles, it’s almost certain that no one can get enough. But they can’t even meet the most basic requirements, and they can’t get a promise of a pack of instant noodles a day. How difficult is it for them?

But when migrant workers want to solve the most basic living security, they are beaten and arrested in exchange. In fact, this reflects not only the problem of Dasi Town, Xiqing District, Tianjin, but everywhere under the CCP’s rule. Anyone who lives in a foreign land is a “foreigner” and may be treated the same by these people.

Let me tell you something about me. During the 2020 New York lockdown, there was a US government food distribution near my house. At that time, I couldn’t go to the supermarket to buy food, so my wife went to pick it up twice.

There are some Chinese people near my house, so the banner on the wall to pick up the meal specifically reads “Anyone can pick it up” in Chinese. The staff in charge of handing out the food are very friendly and give more every time. My wife said to get two servings, but the staff always gave one more, for fear that we would not have enough to eat.

We Chinese faces are the real “foreigners” in the eyes of Americans. But those westerners who distribute food, no matter what country you are from, they treat them the same, they think they are all people in need.

The head of the army advised Xi not to be re-elected? No victory against corruption?

Next, let’s talk about the internal struggle of the CCP. This morning (18th), the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection held six plenary sessions, and Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the meeting. What attracts the outside world is that in his speech, Xi Jinping rarely said that “the battle of corruption and anti-corruption is still going on fiercely”, and he said 12 “self-revolution” in a row, and severely criticized “various interest groups ganging up” and “corruption.” Negative Variation of Means” and so on.

This speech by Xi Jinping, on the whole, is a continuation of the CCP’s consistent rhetoric, and there is nothing new. However, he kept emphasizing that “anti-corruption is always on the road”, “it is impossible to stop”, etc. In particular, he said that “the battle between corruption and anti-corruption is still going on fiercely”, which contradicts the previous statement.

Xinhua News Agency reported in December 2018 that the Politburo meeting pointed out that “the fight against corruption has achieved an overwhelming victory” and that “this is a major judgment of the Party Central Committee on the current situation of the fight against corruption.”

This is the first time Xi Jinping has used the word “victory” to describe it since he launched his anti-corruption campaign. According to what the authorities called “victory”, it has been “victory” for 3 years now. Why did you suddenly turn around and say “the battle of corruption and anti-corruption is still going on fiercely”?

The day before yesterday (16th), Yao Cheng, a former lieutenant colonel of the CCP Navy Command, revealed that he had received inside information from the CCP army, and some people in the CCP army began to publicly express their opposition to Xi Jinping.

In a commentary program on NTDTV, Yao Cheng said that he recently learned from friends in the CCP army that someone had jointly written two letters to Xi Jinping. And the contents of these two letters are both directed at Xi Jinping.

The first letter explained that it is not feasible to go to war with Taiwan at present. If we go to war hard, the CCP will face the danger of subjugating the party and the country. The second letter directly persuaded Xi Jinping to give up his re-election. The letter expressed the desire to cancel the lifelong system of leading cadres, maintain the collective leadership within the party, and avoid the recurrence of the Cultural Revolution.

Yao Cheng did not reveal who his friend in the army was, nor did he reveal his friend’s identity and role in the CCP army. But he believes that there may be a reason for such rumors appearing at this time, even if they are groundless.

Yao Cheng pointed out that recently there have been rumors of infighting within the CCP, and they all involve the core layers of the CCP’s power. For example, it is rumored that Li Zhanshu was undercover with Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong, and Liu Yazhou opposed Xi Jinping’s arrest, etc. These all reflect that the CCP’s internal struggle has reached the end of the game.

We cannot confirm the news revealed by Yao Cheng. If true, it will be a big barrier to Xi Jinping’s re-election at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Because without the support of the military, within the CCP system, it is not easy for anyone to speak, and there is even a danger of being taken down at any time.

We do not know the faction of the military leaders who oppose Xi Jinping’s re-election. It would be better if he simply persuaded Xi to give up his re-election. If these military leaders are factional, or even Jiang Zeng’s faction, it will not only be a barrier issue for Xi Jinping, but may even be dangerous to Xi himself.

From this perspective, Xi Jinping’s latest speech, “the battle of corruption and anti-corruption is still going on fiercely,” is not aimless, but probably pointed at the sword.

In the anti-corruption campaign launched by Xi Jinping, most of the top officials who were sacked were officials from Jiang Zeng’s faction. Some people likened Jiang Zemin to a “corrupt head coach” and called Jiang Zeng the “Tiger King”. In the anti-corruption campaign, Xi Jinping has not moved on these two people. But these two people are secretly creating trouble for Xi Jinping.

Now Xi Jinping says that “the battle of corruption and anti-corruption is still going on fiercely.” Does he imply that Jiang Zeng’s forces are fighting back? If so, does Xi Jinping regret not taking advantage of the momentum and winning these two rivals? Now that raising tigers is causing trouble, will Xi Jinping throw a whistle on Jiang Zeng? If he didn’t fight the tiger, would Xi Jinping be bitten by the tiger king or even killed?

Before the 20th National Congress, every day was full of dangers.
