Human bones discovered on the site of the former Bavarian hospital in Liège

The discovery was made Tuesday afternoon at the construction site on Constitution Boulevard along the old hospital. According to the DH, it was workers busy digging a trench on the road that fell on these bones, buried almost two meters deep. At least two skulls have been unearthed, but early indications are that they are very old. Just like the other bones found on an earth embankment which came from the same trench.

The Liège prosecution has been notified. The bones have now been transferred to the forensic institute, where they will be analyzed. The Walloon Region will also be questioned to find out if an old mortuary was not there.
