Neymar, ligament injury, ankle sprain… ‘Up to 8 weeks’ absence

Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain) cannot be seen for a while.

The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) club announced on the club’s website on the 30th (Korean time) that “Nymar will not play for six to eight weeks.”

An official from the club said, “As a result of the examination, a ligament injury and a sprain of the left ankle were confirmed.

Neymar suffered a series of harsh fouls from opponents during the match against Ligue 1 Saint-Etienne on the 28th. In the second half, fullback Ivan Macon stumbled and fell and was injured. As he stepped on Masson’s foot in the process of falling, his ankle turned and he was carried on a stretcher.

Due to the ankle injury, Neymar’s return is not expected until the end of January next year.
