Neymar out for up to eight weeks with ankle injury

Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar is expected to leave for up to eight weeks with an ankle injury.

The Paris club announced on the morning of the 30th (Korean time) that Neymar could not play for six to eight weeks due to an ankle injury. Paris said, “The examination confirmed Neymar’s left ankle sprain and ligament damage.” Neymar broke his left ankle while landing while avoiding an opponent’s tackle in the French Ligue 1 away game against Saint-Etienne on the 28th and was carried on a stretcher.

Due to Neymar’s departure, the ‘MNM’ triangle, which Paris is proud of, will not be available until January next year. Neymar, along with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, make up the Paris attacking trio. Neymar’s injury is bad news for Paris. However, Paris is not expected to have any major problems as it has been cruising in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League recently. Paris ranked first with 13 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss (40 points) in Ligue 1, and qualified for the Champions League round of 16.
