The NFL didn’t have a day like any other this Monday. Following the positive case of quarterback Cam Newton, the meeting between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots has been postponed until Monday night. It took place and saw the victory of the Chiefs, the reigning champions, despite the excellent defensive game plan of the Patriots who did not allow touchdowns in the first half. But Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City quarterback, ended up finding the solution and making two touchdown passes and giving the victory to his team (26-10). For the Patriots, Brian Hoyer, established in Newton’s absence, was replaced during the game by Jarrett Stidham.
At Lambeau Field the logic was respected, the Green Bay Packers kept their invincibility (30-16) against the Atlanta Falcons who have not yet won this year. Aaron Rodgers demonstrated with 27 successful passes of 33 attempts, 327 yards and 4 landing assists. Three went to tight catcher Robert Tonyan, who now has five this season.
Note that earlier today, Houston Texans coach and general manager Bill O’Brien was fired. His team started the season with four losses as they boast the largest payroll in the league and O’Brien has sent many draft picks all over the place over the past year and a half.
