1992 F1 World Champion Nigel Mansen grabbed the Williams FW14B starring at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Sunday, June 26th.
This is the first time Nigel Mansell has driven the Williams FW14B since the final round of the 1992 season in Australia. This car is one of the most historic and dominant cars in F1 history, with Mansell winning nine out of 16 races 30 years ago.
Designed by a team of Patrick Head, Adrian Newey and Paddy Lowe, the car was overwhelmingly strong, armed with active suspension, semi-automatic gearbox and traction control.
Nigel Mansell drove some of his old Ferrari F1 cars at Goodwood before taking control of the Williams FW14B on Sunday.
“It was a very special moment for Williams and me to come to Goodwood on our wedding anniversary and not only see this car again, but also travel up this hill,” said Nigel Mansell.
“I’m excited to be here with the team. I’m glad I was able to grab the steering wheel of this extraordinary race car.”
“It’s a very moving moment to drive in front of fans all over the world, and it’s a memory I cherish.”
Nigel Mansell is one of the most successful drivers in F1 history, winning 31 Grand Prix wins, 32 pole positions, 59 podiums and a 1992 driver’s title. There is.
