No phone noise canceling feature on iPhone 13 Problem, apparently official, not bug– Engadget Japanese version

As I mentioned the other day, I’m getting more and more dissatisfied with the fact that the noise canceling function of the phone (reducing ambient noise during calls) that can be used with iPhone 12 and earlier models cannot be used with the iPhone 13 series. It was thought to be a bug, but it became clear that Apple had intentionally removed the feature.

The problem with the iPhone 13 series is that there is no “phone noise canceling” toggle switch in the past models in “Accessibility”-> “Audio / Visual” in the settings app. In other words, it cannot be enabled in the settings.

One of the 9to5Mac readers in the US contacted us on Twitter with official Apple support. “I was told to interact with Apple and my senior advisor for a few months to wait for an update, and I received an update about the issue, but apparently it wasn’t fixed and noise canceling was for an unspecified number of reasons. It seems that those devices (iPhone 13 series) have been intentionally disabled. “

In response, 9to5Mac asked if the iPhone 13 model does not support phone noise canceling, and the official Apple support team said, “Yes, it’s not supported. About this feature. Please send your feedback to apple.com/Feedback. “

After all, Apple recognizes that it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t have this feature, so it’s unlikely that there will be any further progress. iOS 15 has a “voice isolation” (called in the control center) function that reduces ambient noise and clears the voice during a call, but this may have been judged to be sufficient.
