No ‘VAR’ is a major obstacle; Liverpool coach reacts to defeat against Manchester City

During the pre quarter of the EFL (Carabao) Cup, Premier League powerhouses, Manchester City and Liverpool, met in the early hours of Friday morning when Liverpool faced defeat.

City won by three goals to two in an exciting game. Haaland, Mahrez and Nathan Ake scored for City, while Fabio Carvalho and Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool.

But now, after Liverpool’s loss, Liverpool coach Jörgen Klopp has come out against the lack of use of ‘VAR’ in the game. In the Carabao Cup, ‘VAR’ will be used from the semi-finals onwards.

“I believe that when we have ‘VAR’, the referees should definitely use it. But they say it’s not time to use it. When the technology is available to us, there is no justification for not using it,’ he said.

He also added that during big games like City-Liverpool, when ‘VAR’ is available on the home ground of both teams, it should be used.

He also told the media that the quality of the referees in the game was very poor and that the first goal of the game was offside.

Haaland’s first chance at the start of the game is clearly offside. That changed the course of the game,’
He said.

City qualified for the semi-final after winning the game. City’s semi-final against Southampton is on January 10.

Apart from City, six other Premier League clubs have reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Charlton FC is the non-Premier League semi-finalist.

The EFL Cup is a tournament in which 92 clubs from different football leagues in England compete. The tournament is structured in such a way that the losing teams are eliminated from the competition.

At the same time, this is not the first time that Klopp has presented various arguments while losing the game. Klopp has made the strange accusation that the wet grass in the ground was the reason behind the loss in the Premier League in the past.
