No wins in eight matches; East Bengal coach sacked

ISL club East Bengal coach Manolo Dias has been sacked. Dias was dropped by East Bengal after failing to lead the team to victory in all the eight matches he played this season. Former Kerala Blasters coach Elko Shatori is expected to replace him. No official announcement has been made in this regard.

Dias, who coached Spanish club Real Madrid youth team, will take over as East Bengal coach this season. The team was set up by East Bengal at the last minute as they were on the verge of exiting the ISL following the termination of their contract with Mr Simmons, the main sponsor. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was also involved. Mr Cements then re-signed with the club. However, the club has been performing poorly this season. East Bengal are bottom of the points table with 4 wins and 4 draws in 8 matches.
