“Not even the price of a steel plate left?”… 5 reasons why the Chevrolet Trax crossover is unique

– Features Chevrolet Trax Crossover TOP5
– Unrivaled charm of car class for price

[오토트리뷴=최현진 기자] The Chevrolet Trax crossover immediately gets the attention of consumers. This is because there is not a single feature that is not unique from the car class to the price. What makes the Trax crossover a special car? I have divided it into 5 main points.

Two benefits at the same time, ‘unparalleled class’ overlap

The Trax crossover is literally the crossover segment of GM’s global vehicle portfolio. Crossover, which has been one of the main trends in the automobile market since the 2000s, refers to a form that brings benefits to each other only by combining two categories into one.

The Trax crossover also brought the benefits of a passenger car and an SUV and merged them into one. Sometimes you can feel the ride comfort and light driving performance of a mid-size sedan, and sometimes the practicality of an SUV. Is it because it is decidedly different from an SUV? Chevrolet classified the Trax crossover in a new category called ‘CUV’ instead of putting it in an SUV on the official site.

Is it a compact SUV? ‘Unusual size’

The Trax crossover has been reborn as a completely different car compared to the first generation. In particular, it is characterized by an increase in overall size. The length is 4,540mm, the width is 1,825mm, and the height is 1,560mm, which is larger than most compact SUVs. In particular, the length and width are greater than the top model, the Trailblazer. In the domestic small SUV market, the only model larger than the Trax is the Renault Korea XM3.

The wheelbase is 2,700mm, which is only 20mm different from the Avante’s wheelbase (2,720mm). The obviously larger size leads to the interior space. The 1st and 2nd row spaces have become more comfortable than the previous generation. Trunk capacity is 414ℓ as standard, expanding to a maximum of 1405ℓ when the second row seats are folded.

One model, two ‘unique design’ styles

The Trax crossover has a slightly different design depending on the trim, just like the higher class model, the Trailblazer. The purpose is to respect the diverse personalities and lifestyles of users. If you prefer an urban SUV, this is the RS trim. The dual port grille expands upwards, and the space between them is decorated with black trim to emphasize the sporty design.

If you prefer an open-air SUV, the Active trim is perfect. The gloss black grille is applied to give the impression that the dual port grille is expanding downwards. Here, titanium chrome decoration was added to the lower part of the bumper to complete a heavy and solid impression.

If you choose the optional headliner package, a roof crossbar and luggage liner are added, which not only makes the outdoors feel stronger, but also increases practicality by providing additional loading space.

Even the lowest trim has everything! ‘Exclusive option’

The Trax crossover is divided into LT, Active, and RS, starting with the lower LS trim. Unlike competing models in the same class where specifications differ, various safety and convenience specifications are installed starting from the LS trim.

In particular, in the case of safety specifications, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, front pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, etc. are all applied as standard to the LS trim, and can be controlled adaptive cruise. also selected as an option (350,000 won). Even if you go to the LT, Active, and RS trims, only rear parking assist and smart high beams are added.

Of particular note is that the electronic parking brake (EPB) and auto hold function are applied from the LS trim. It might be trivial these days, but previous Chevrolet models didn’t support it at all, or it was a function that could only be applied by adding some higher level options.

The smart trunk and second row air vents are specifications that only apply to the Korean market. This is a point where you can see how much Korean consumers care about the Trax crossover as it prepares for release.

Complete God’s sex ratio, ‘unmatched price’

The most important thing is the price. Even with everything highlighted above, the starting price is only 20.52 million won. In particular, given that most of the safety specs are fitted as standard in the lower LS trim, it’s even unconventional. The full option price is not more than 30 million won, with Active 28.57 million won and RS 28.72 million won.

For reference, the US selling price of the Trax is 21,495 dollars, which is about 28 million won in Korean money, so it is sold 7.5 million won cheaper than the US.
