NRCT supports capital to build “Pinto Robot 2” to deliver food, medicine and medical supplies Reduces exposure to the virus

NRCT supports funding to build “Pinto Robot 2” that can communicate between doctors and patients, amounting to 80, donating to hospitals across the country, as well as delivering food, medicine and medical supplies

On 20 Jan. 65, Dr. Pasan Kulwanich, an expert scientist Engineering Materials Division Department of Science Service (Eng.), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (TSU) Project Leader “Developing a health service management system with remotely controlled mobile robots under severe communicable disease situations” revealed that it received a grant from the National Research Office (NRCT) to develop a human health service management system with a robot. remote controlled mobile motors under severe contagious situations or remote controlled mobile robot “Pinto Robot 2” provides public health services with a remotely controlled mobile robot whose mission is to transport food, medicine and medical supplies within the hospital. and field hospitals in the situation of COVID-19 To help reduce exposure to the virus of medical personnel. and reduce the use of PPE kits in activities that require healthcare professionals to be in close contact with patients to hospitals across the country

in the beginning Robotics and Automation Innovations Group has explored the need for hospital robots. It was found that there was a demand for robots from 145 hospitals across the country, totaling 393 units. Therefore, EGAT has prepared 80 small controlled robots (Pinto Robot 2) with a database for managing the maintenance of robots. which has been allocated funds from NRCT

Dr. Pasan added that the components of the Tiffin Robot 2 consist of a radio remote control unit, a camera system that transmits image data transmitted via radio waves, a trolley frame and a robotic propulsion system developed by the Robotics and Automation Innovation Group. In addition, the Tiffin Robot 2 can also be equipped with an additional telepresence kit, one set consisting of two tablets equipped with an Application for video communication between medical personnel and patients. An additional 80 Yont Pinto 2 will be donated to hospitals across the country in helping and supporting medical personnel in preventing and controlling the spread of COVID-19. It can be used as a tool to help solve problems and support the control of emerging disease outbreaks in the future as well.
