Oklahoma State University’s Anthony Roy has been selected to participate in the 2026 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT), which takes place from April 15 to April 18, 2026, in Portsmouth, Virginia.
The PIT is a four-day event featuring a 12-game tournament designed to give top college seniors the opportunity to showcase their skills before professional scouts. The event includes representatives from all 30 NBA teams, as well as scouts from the G League and international organizations.
Player Performance and Profile
Roy, who stands 6-foot-5, was the leading scorer for the Cowboys during the 2025-26 season, averaging 16.7 points per game. His performance placed him among the top five in the Big 12 Conference in three key categories: three-point field goals made with 90, three-point field goal percentage at .390, and free throw percentage at .857.

Roy is the first player from Oklahoma State to compete in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament since Jeffrey Carroll participated in 2018.
Tournament Structure and Schedule
The 72nd edition of the tournament features a total of 64 selected players. Roy has been assigned to the team designated as Mike Duman, Inc., which is guaranteed three games during the event.
The schedule for Roy’s team begins with a game at 7 p.m. CT on April 16, 2026. A victory in this opening game will advance the team to the semifinal on April 17, 2026, at 7 p.m. CT. A loss will move the team into the consolation bracket, with a game scheduled for April 17, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. CT. The tournament concludes on April 18, 2026, with a placement round.

Tamin Lipsey, a 6-foot-1 guard from Iowa State, averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game as a senior.
History of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament
Established in 1953, the PIT has served as a critical evaluation point for seniors who may not be top-tier prospects but possess the talent to play professionally. The tournament’s alumni list includes several prominent NBA players, such as Rick Barry, Earl The Pearl
Monroe, Dave Cowens, Scottie Pippen, Tim Hardaway, Dennis Rodman, and Jimmy Butler.
The event is specifically geared toward players who are hoping to elevate their draft stock or earn two-way contracts before the NBA Draft.
