Ahmedabad: India’s proud star Mirabai Chanu has won gold in the 2022 National Games. The star won easily in the women’s 49 kg category. Chanu, who won a silver medal at the Olympics and a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, won the gold by lifting a total of 191 kg.
Chanu, who lifted 84 kg in snatch, lifted 107 kg clean and unscored and won gold for Manipur. Manipur’s own Sanjita Chanu won silver in this event lifting 187 kg while Odisha’s Sneha Soren bagged bronze in this event lifting 169 kg.
This is Chanu’s second gold in the National Games. In 2015, the actor also won a gold medal in the National Games hosted by Kerala. Chanu is preparing for next year’s Asian Games.
