New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called for an emergency meeting amid concerns around the world about the new Kovid variant Omicron found in South Africa.

The challenges posed by the virus variant and how it will affect the country were also discussed. The Prime Minister directed the officials to reconsider the decision to resume international flights on December 15 and the concessions given for travel. Modi called for increased vigilance and precautionary measures against Omikron.

The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that officials had explained at the meeting the global spread of Kovid. The meeting discussed the specifics and nature of Omicon and its impact on various countries and the possible problems in India.

International flights, especially from troubled countries, were instructed to be carefully inspected and inspected in accordance with the guidelines. The meeting was attended by Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan and Finance Commission member Dr. V.K. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that Omikron is more dangerous than the Delta variant that caused the second wave of Kovid in India. The U.S., the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada have all imposed restrictions on travel to South Africa and seven other African countries where Omicron has spread.

RTPCR and Quarantine on arrival in Kerala

Pathanamthitta: RTPCR has been introduced for foreign visitors in the wake of the reported omicron variant of the corona virus. Health Minister Veena George has said that the examination and the seven-day quarantine will be mandatory.

No new variant has been reported in Kerala. However, vigilance has been ordered as per the central directive. The minister said there were no reports on whether the new variant was capable of overcoming vaccination.
