On day 402 of the Ukraine War, civilians like babies were killed in air raids in Russia… Bombing of schools and banks

On the 1st (local time), the 402nd day of the war in Ukraine, Russian forces launched airstrikes across Ukraine, resulting in civilian casualties, including a 5-month-old baby. Apartments and school buildings were also bombed by Russian forces.

According to foreign media such as CNN and The Guardian, at least two civilians have been killed by Russian artillery fire in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, a local official said in a post posted on Telegram on the 1st.

Among the civilians killed was a five-month-old baby killed in the village of Avdyvka by Russian artillery fire between the night of the 31st and the morning of the 1st, Donetsk Governor Pablo Kirilenko said.

Governor Kirilenko also reported that one civilian was injured in Druzkivka. Russian artillery fire damaged two apartment buildings, a school and a bank. He added that the enemy is also coming under attack in the areas of Brilleder and Novouukrainka.

Local news company Kiuu Independent reported that at least five people, including babies, have been killed in Ukraine in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, promised to increase the supply of munitions to its troops in Ukraine while visiting the headquarters of Moscow’s army fighting in Ukraine.

US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley said Ukraine is unlikely to expel all Russian troops from its territory this year, the Kieu Independent reported, citing an interview with Defense One. Regarding the timing of the end of the war, Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said, “It’s unlikely to happen this year in the short term.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on the same day for about an hour, discussing measures to implement Ukraine’s peace plan and cooperation in the defense sector.

In November 2022, President Zelensky presented Ukraine’s 10 peace formulas to world leaders at the G20 summit held in Bali, Indonesia. These measures included nuclear security, food security, the establishment of a special tribunal to investigate alleged war crimes by Russia, and a final peace treaty with Russia. He also urged G20 leaders to “impose a price cap on energy imported from Russia in order to force Russia to abandon its nuclear threat.”
