I have one incident in my memory. At the beginning of Oommen Chandy’s entry into politics, AK Mae Anthony comes from somewhere. Oommen Chandy went directly and called Anthony and brought him. They both entered a tea shop near the railway station and drank tea.
Anthony said he wanted something substantial as he was very hungry. Oommen Chandy was shocked to hear this. All he had was cash for coffee. Oommen Chandy said to give everything. Oommen Chandy ran away to the party office after giving the newspaper to Antony who was sitting there saying he would come soon.
He ran off to get the money. So Oommen Chandy left AK Antony there as a promise. He ran down the road and took the money. AK Anthony didn’t have any money either. He took the money from the hands of the party members and took Antony from the promise.
