On October 17, Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said after the meeting to drive drug addiction treatment operations Ministry of Health Fiscal Year 2023 that the operation will be based on the framework (draft) policies and plans national. on preventing, preventing and solving drug problems (BE 2023-2027) and policies, orders of the Minister of Public Health as chairman of the Drug Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Committee which has 5 driving directions, namely:

1. Increase the rate of access to treatment services for drug patients. 2. Support treatment, treatment and rehabilitation with standard quality. 3. Supporting rehabilitation in the community (CBTx) 4. Promoting academic and surveillance systems and 5. Management towards excellence. by developing the competence of personnel in the treatment and rehabilitation network developing information technology to support rehabilitation therapy and resource management for effective treatment, treatment and rehabilitation.

Opas said Dr. Rehabilitation for drug addicts is divided into 3 groups: the addict group (red) will provide treatment according to the inpatient system. in a hospital under the Department of Mental Health/Department of Medicine or long-term rehabilitation centres, drug users (yellow) treated as outpatients (OPD) in community hospitals or short-term patients in center hospitals/general hospitals and user groups ( green) to provide therapy in the community.

In addition, there are orders to accelerate actions on 7 issues, namely: 1. SorPho., Inspection and registration of screening centers, under the Ministry of Health and the local government to cover all sub-regions. 2. Rehabilitation therapy in the community to cover all sub-regions 3. Inspection and registration of social rehabilitation centers to cover the sub-regional level. 4. Central Hospital/General Hospital All psychiatric and drug wards. 5. Community hospitals establishing all psychiatric and drugs working groups; 6. SOrPh.PC Hospitals/general hospitals support the operation of rehabilitation centers for network partners to rehabilitate long-term drug patients; and 7. Registering personnel who use drugs in the country’s addiction treatment and rehabilitation information system (TAMC), within and outside the MOPH, overseeing data recording, screening, treatment and rehabilitation to be up-to-date.
