Opposition Figures Rally Against Contaminated Water Release from Fukushima Plant

Opposition Figures Join Second Cross-National Convention to Protest Release of Contaminated Water from Fukushima Plant

SEOUL – Prominent opposition figures gathered in Seoul today for the second cross-national convention aimed at putting an end to the planned discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Additionally, the convention served as a platform to denounce the Yoon Seok-yeol regime.

The Democratic Party of Korea’s leadership, including its renowned leader Lee Jae-myeong, convened at Sejong-daero in Jung-gu, Seoul at 4:00 pm to voice their demand for a halt to the release of the toxic water and to call for a ban on Japanese seafood imports. Subsequently, they mobilized a rally towards the Presidential Office located in Yongsan.

The participation of Lee Jae-myeong, who has been fasting for the past three days, lent further weight to the cause. The Democratic Party leader’s unwavering commitment was evident as he addressed the attendees during the rally.

It is worth noting that Representative Lee and other opposition figures had previously attended a similar cross-national convention in downtown Seoul just a week ago, where they expressed their strong condemnation of the planned release of contaminated water.
