People pour into the streets of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands.

These are people who protest against the strengthened government quarantine measures, such as partial blockades and restrictions on those who have not been vaccinated due to the re-spread of COVID-19.

In Rotterdam, the second city in the Netherlands, nighttime violent protests escalated and police fired warning shots, injuring three protesters and arresting more than 50 people.

In Austria, which has decided to make vaccination compulsory for everyone from February next year, a crowd of about 38,000, police estimated, has been protesting.

In addition, protests are continuing in Switzerland, Italy and Croatia, but the spread of Corona 19 infection is getting serious again, mainly in Europe.

The World Health Organization’s European Director-General Hans Kluge warned in an interview with the BBC that the death toll from COVID-19 could exceed 500,000 in Europe by March next year unless urgent measures are taken.

To prevent this, it is necessary to increase vaccination rates, strengthen mask wearing, and introduce new treatments.

He added that while mandatory vaccination is a last resort, now is the right time to start legal and social discussions.
