The voices against the late Roh Tae-woo, the head of state, are continuing from the pan passport.

Civil wars and genocide crimes are too great to mention.

When concerns arose that Chun Doo-hwan could also become the head of state, the Blue House drew a line saying, ‘There is no value in thinking about it.’

Reporter Lee Hak-soo reports.

“I see this as a historical responsibility given to Gwangju, and I see it as upholding the will of the May Heroes and Gwangju citizens.”

The Justice Party refused to offer condolences as well as to participate in the National Funeral Committee.

“Comparing (former President Roh Tae-woo) to Chun Doo-hwan and saying that he is different is an insult to the citizens who have defended democracy and a mockery to democracy.”

Even within the passport, “I regret the decision of the head of state” and “I refused to appoint an advisor to the funeral committee.” Although it was a compromise to avoid the burial of the Memorial Hall, opposition voices continued, saying, “I do not agree.”

“I personally don’t agree…there are many people who have been harmed by the military coup d’état?”

The Blue House explained that there was a narrow range of options to choose from other than the head of state under the current law, and explained the practical limitations as the background for the decision.

Even so, he dismissed the possibility of future head of state for Chun Doo-hwan.

“In the case of former President Chun Doo-hwan, I don’t think it’s worth thinking about the national funeral or even the burial of a national cemetery.”

The Democratic Party also announced that it is also pushing for legislation that can clearly exclude Jeon from the list of heads of state.

“I am going to amend the law so that such a person cannot serve as the head of state when he has defamed the reputation of Gwangju without reflecting on himself and is being tried.”

In response, Representative Lee Jun-seok of People’s Power said, ‘It’s not bad,’ but he showed a subtle difference in position, saying, ‘You have to be quite flexible’.
