Oregon, Oregon women, says NCAA competition is open at home

Oregon women will play in the competition play, Portland Regional, which Eugene will open by Matthew Knight Arena against Portland State.

Oregon State plays in Albany, New York, Regional, and will open the competition in Corvallis against Boise State.

NEW YORK (AP) – Baylor, Notre Dame, Mississippi State and Louisville are the No seeds. 1 in the NCAA women's competition, which indicated that Madness field was soon visible due to production error.

The brackets were sent out by mistake ESPN hours before the network was selected. ESPN apologized for its error and scoped an early selection show to release the brackets and screens of the picks were shared across the social networks.

"As we worked with the NCAA to prepare for the Special Selection of Women tonight, we received the bracket, apparently in recent years. Among our preparations, the bracket was placed on ESPNU," the network said in a statement. "We regret the error and apologize to the NCAA and the women's basketball community. We will thoroughly review our process to ensure that it does not happen in the future."

In 2016, the men's bracket was leaked during the selection show, reaffirming on Twitter and elsewhere as fans knew if the picks were accurate.

Lady Bears No. 1 the best team in Greensboro Regional and Notre Dame's defense is the first choice in Chicago. The team is Mississippi State. 1 in the Portland Regional where Oregon is the second seed. Louisville is the best choice in Albany Regional where No. 2 UCON stay.

"We are very happy this season we have. We played an outstanding schedule. At the end of the day, I thought we would go to Albany as 1 or 2," Louisville coach Jeff Walz said. "It's great to be a seed 1 and we know there's a lot of work ahead of us."

Walz will not coach an open game of the Cardinals against Robert Morris as he will be attending any game suspension to use language toward NCAA officials during the Final Four last year. The veteran coach said he is expected to support UConn fans if his team reaches the Sweet 16 and if he plays in New York's upstate. Maryland is the seed No. 3 in Albany and Oregon State is the 4.

"If we are lucky enough to get that amount, I am confident that half of UCON's fans will wear Louisville gear and will not know who will like them," said Walz, laughing.

This is the first time since 2006 no seed No. 1 is the Huskies. Tennessee met in the park as 11. The Lady Vols are in every NCAA Tournament from the first in 1982.

The women's competition playing Friday and Final Final takes place in Tampa, Florida, on April 5 with the championship match two days later.

Other main sources in Greensboro are No. 2 Iowa, State 3 No. State and No. 4 South Carolina. The Gamecocks play the first two rounds in Charlotte as the NCAA Tournament plays men at South Carolina town court.

Syracuse and Miami will accompany Mississippi State and Oregon as a host team in the Portland Regional.

The first two games in the Tire Fight could be at home before they have to drive 90 minutes to Chicago for the regional region. The best teams in the Irish region are Stanford, Iowa State and Texas A&M.
