New Comedy ‘Rolling Loud’ Lands Nationwide Theatrical Release

A new comedy film, “Rolling Loud,” written and directed by Jeremy Garelick, is set to premiere in over 2,000 theaters across the United States on September 18, 2026. The announcement was made by Ketchup Entertainment, which acquired domestic distribution rights to the film produced by Live Nation Studios and American High, in collaboration with the Rolling Loud festival brand.

The film is inspired by a true story and centers around an overprotective father who makes a questionable decision to connect with his 13-year-old son by sneaking him into the Rolling Loud hip-hop music festival in Miami. The ensuing adventure involves a reckless co-worker and an eccentric festival volunteer as they navigate the crowds, security, and their own family dynamics.

“Rolling Loud” boasts a star-studded cast including Oscar-nominated actor Owen Wilson, comedian Matt Rife, and veteran actor Henry Winkler. The film will also feature appearances from prominent rap artists such as Ty Dolla $ign, Sexyy Red, and Ski Mask The Slump God, alongside Travis Scott and Dominic Fike.

Garelick, founder of American High, shared that the film originated from a personal experience. “’Rolling Loud’ was sparked by a chaotic real-life moment when I briefly lost my son at a music festival – an experience that was filled with anxiety, fear, and absurdity,” he said in a statement. “This became a great party story and now a fun, ridiculous comedy that we’re incredibly excited to bring to theater audiences with our partners at Live Nation Studios and Ketchup Entertainment.”

Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, described the film as “a bold, unapologetic comedy with real cultural credibility.” He added, “Live Nation Studios brings unmatched access and authenticity to the project, and we see this as a true event-driven theatrical release that connects music culture and cinema.”

This release marks a significant milestone for American High, as We see the first film from the Liverpool, New York-based production company to receive a nationwide theatrical release. Previously, American High’s titles have been exclusively available on streaming platforms, including Hulu, with whom they have a multi-picture deal. Notably, this is also the first American High production not filmed in the Syracuse area.

Jeremy Garelick established American High in 2017 after purchasing the former A.V. Zogg Middle School in Liverpool, transforming it into a film studio specializing in teen comedies. Over 20 films have been shot in the Syracuse area under the American High banner. The company also produces “American High Shorts” and has expanded with a second production hub, American High South, in Georgia.

Garelick’s previous writing credits include “The Break-Up” and “The Hangover,” and he has directed films such as “The Wedding Ringer,” “Murder Mystery 2,” and “The Binge.”

The film’s executive producers include Ryan Kroft and Michael Rapino for Live Nation Studios, Pasquale Rotella of Insomniac, Matt Zingler of Rolling Loud, Rife and Christina Shams. Producers include Garelick and Will Phelps for American High, as well as Doug Banker and Stella Bulochnikov.

As of today, February 8, 2026, a trailer for “Rolling Loud” has not yet been released.
