Park In-bee (33, KB Financial Group) started chasing the lead in earnest on the second day of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship ($4.5 million in total prize money), a major event on the LPGA Tour in the United States.
Inbee Park, in the second round of the tournament held at the Atlanta Athletic Club (par 72) in Jones Creek, Georgia, USA on the 26th (Korean time), combined an eagle, 4 birdies, and 2 bogeys to hit a 4-under 68.
Park In-bee tied for 7th with a mid-total 5-under 139. He trailed Nelly Corda (USA), who took the lead with an 11-under 133 stroke, by six strokes.
Inbee Park, who caught birdies on the 12th (par 5) and 17th (par 3) holes, bogeyed on the 3rd hole (par 4). However, he reduced one stroke with a birdie on the 5th hole (par 5) and succeeded in the eagle on the 6th hole (par 4), riding an upward trend.
After that, Park In-bee hesitated to bogey on the 8th hole (par 4), but ended up pleasantly by adding a birdie on the last 9th hole (par 4).
Meanwhile, Kim Hyo-joo (26, Lotte), who was tied for 23rd in the first round, caught three birdies without bogey and recorded a total of 4 under par 140, raising the ranking to a tie for 10th.
Jeongeun Lee 6 (25, Daebang Engineering & Construction), who was tied for 3rd in the first round, lost two strokes and was tied for 32nd (1 under par 143) with Jeon Inji (27, KB Financial Group).
Jin-young Ko (26, Solaire), the world No. 1 ranking, also reduced one stroke to tie 57th and passed the cut.
