Park Seong-hyeon (29) tied for 13th in the second round of the Cognitive Founders Cup (total prize money of $3 million) on the LPGA Tour.

Park Seong-hyun hit a 2-under 70 with three birdies and one bogey in the second round of the tournament held at the Upper Montclair Country Club (par 72, 6,656 yards) in Clifton, New Jersey, USA on the 14th (Korean time).

Park Seong-hyeon, who recorded a 6-under par 138, finished the second round in a tie for 13th along with Kim A-rim (27), Choi Woon-jeong (32), and Jeon Ji-won (25).

Park Sung-hyun has won two major championships, including the 2017 US Open and the 2018 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and climbed to the top spot in the world, but has not won since the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in June 2019.

The last 10 or higher results were also 8th at the British Open in August 2019. In five competitions this year, he missed the cut three times and stayed in the top 60 in the other two competitions.

For Park Seong-hyun, he inflated the possibility of entering the ‘Top 10’.

The average number of putts in the first and second rounds was 31.5, which was not a small one, but the green hit rate was 88.9% (32/36).

Kim A-rim, who won the KLPGA Championship, a major tournament on the Korea Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) tour earlier this month, recorded a 3-under par with 5 birdies and 2 bogeys for two days in a row.

Arim Kim aims to enter the ‘Top 10’ for the second time in the season following a tie for 9th at the HSBC World Championship in March.

Korean player Lee Min-ji (Australia) took the lead alone with a 14-under 130, while Lexi Thompson, Ally Ewing (USA), and Madeleine Sachström (Sweden) both tied for second with an 11-under 133 shot.

Jinyoung Ko (27), the winner of this competition in 2019 and 2021, recorded a 5-under 139 stroke, and was tied for 22nd with Jeon In-ji (28), Choi Hye-jin (23), and Shin Ji-eun (30).
