Pat Cummins as Australia’s new ODI captain

Pacer Pat Cummins has been appointed Australia’s new ODI captain. Cummins was given the captaincy following the retirement of former captain Aaron Finch. Cummins currently leads the Australian Test team. With this, Cummins will also lead Australia in the ODI World Cup next year. Cummins’ first duty as ODI captain is the series against England which starts on November 17. There are three matches in the series.

Finch decided to end the game in the background of the bad form that has been going on for a long time in ODIs. Finch had said that he was retiring now because the new captain needed time to prepare the team for the next World Cup. Finch still leads the T20 team.

Finch played 145 ODIs in the national jersey and scored 5401 runs at an average of 39.1. Captain Finch won 30 out of 54 ODIs.
