Pathanamthitta: Two-dose vaccine spreads in Pathanamthitta covid | positive | pathanamthitta

New Delhi: The Center has expressed concern over the rising number of Kovid patients in Kerala. In Pathanamthitta district, the prevalence of the disease was highest among those who took two doses of the vaccine, according to the Union Health Ministry.

Despite receiving two doses in the district, the number of cases has crossed 5,000. Of these, 258 became infected two weeks after being vaccinated. More than 14,000 people have been infected despite receiving a single dose of the vaccine. Of these, 4,490 became infected 15 days after being vaccinated.

The report was submitted to the Union Ministry of Health by a team of six who came to study the Kovid situation in the state. The Center also directed to conduct a study on whether there was any error in the distribution of vaccines in Pathanamthitta district.

Pathanamthitta is the only state in Kerala where an official study has been conducted on the list of cases after vaccination. More clarity will come only if similar studies are conducted in other districts as well.

The Center has asked the state government to prepare a similar list in other districts and submit a report. The new report comes as Kerala is asking the Center for more vaccine doses to prevent the spread of Kovid.
