People’s power, Democratic Party Minister Lee Sang-min’s dismissal motion “obstructing the government’s investigation”

People Power Senior Spokesperson Yang Geum-hee Remarks

The Power of the People criticized the Democratic Party’s decision to propose a motion to dismiss Minister Lee Sang-min from the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, saying it was “like violating a state investigation.”

The Chief Spokesman, Yang Geum-hee, said in a commentary this afternoon, “The government’s investigation to ascertain the thorough facts of the Itaewon disaster and measures to prevent this from happening again was nothing more than the political side of the Democratic Party.”

He added, “It is nothing more or less than that that we will use the tears of the victims and their bereaved families as a sacrifice for political strife and use the Itaewon disaster as a fire to light the candle of the resignation of the Yoon Seok-yeol . government.”

Chief Spokesman Yang noted, “I would like to ask again why the government investigation will be conducted if the Democratic Party decides everything, informs unilaterally, and handles it alone, including the subject of responsibility, method, and date.”

“It is clear that today’s decision by the Democratic Party will only continue political battles with the signboard of the government’s investigation under the pretext of the disaster,” he said.
