People’s Power Party leader, the most conflicting point of view… The composition of the innovation committee is also difficult

The conflict between Chairman Lee and former National Assembly Vice Chairman Jeong Jin-seok, who is the most elected (fifth-term) in the party, is mobilizing harsh remarks over a sensitive issue linked to the innovation committee launched by Lee Jun-seok, the People’s Power, and the issue of nomination in the long run. The Innovation Committee has not made progress from the start and is in a state of stagnation.

Former Vice-Chairman Jeong appeared on KBS Radio Choi Kyung-young’s strongest current affairs on the 8th and said, “I was embarrassed because it led to such speculation that he was trying to bring down CEO Lee Jun-seok by arguing with him.” It was not a struggle for power,” he said.

On the 6th, criticism of President Lee’s departure to Ukraine and the establishment of the Innovation Committee through Facebook on the 6th was interpreted as an attempt to shake the representative’s system.

However, as former Vice-Chairman Jeong strongly objected to a Facebook post posted this morning by CEO Lee, who had left Ukraine, the conflict ignited again. Representative Lee said on Facebook, “The biggest objection I remember (in the local election nomination process) was that a person who did not meet the PPAT score in the nomination in Chungcheongnam-do was asked to be a proportional representative. “I heard that it was dangerous,” he wrote, “I did not accept it and the governor election was won.”

He added, “It will take a lot of courage to talk about the nomination to the party leader who has been elected without even taking down the mayor of Nowon-gu, which he has jurisdiction over.” This is a passage that reads aimed at former Vice-Chairman Jeong, who is the chairperson of the nomination committee for the 6.1 local election and has Gongju, Buyeo, and Cheongyang in Chungcheongnam-do.

Then, through Facebook, former Vice-Chairman Jeong also raised his voice, saying, “CEO Lee spread the hem as if I was related, and made the media suspicious of me. It’s a shame and I’m very disappointed.” He continued, “CEO Lee is confronting the concerns of his senior politicians with ridicule and distortion of facts.” “Does a senior politician need so much courage to say a word to the party leader? It was difficult,” he added.

The president immediately counterattacked. He said, “It’s a habitual pattern to hit first, then make muddy water and say, ‘Why is the CEO reacting?'” Also, regarding the evaluation that former Vice-Chairman Jeong Jae-hyung Choi was appointed as the innovation chairperson and that it seems to start with the ‘Lee Jun-seok Innovation Committee’, he said, “I recommended Representative Choi Jae-hyung as the chairperson, and Kim Yong-tae recommended member Cheon Haram.” “Who is it? “I thought that even if I recommend and appoint a member of the Innovation Committee, it would shake the Innovation Committee, so when I first proposed it, the top members suggested that we recommend one by one.”

Former Vice-Chairman Jeong criticized Lee for learning ‘bad tricks’ or dismissing the concerns of his senior politicians as ‘dogs’, and Lee said, “If you feel uncomfortable that the person who shot you by mentioning a person makes you feel uncomfortable, that’s also the case. The conflict between the two of them, such as saying, “is an emotional fight. CEO Lee appeared on YTN ‘News Q’ in Warsaw, Poland, which is the stopover point for the return flight, and said, “If I make a mistake, even if Lee Jun-seok says ‘Dokdo is our land’, there will be voices against it.”

The atmosphere within the party, which looks at the conflict that arose immediately after the victory in the local elections, is also becoming chaotic. While some say, “This representative system that creates riots at a time when we need to support the Yoon Seok-yeol government has crossed the line” (a first-elected member of the National Assembly), “the party leader who led to victory in local elections following the presidential election should innovate before the Democratic Party. I can’t understand the forces that are trying to break up and down.”

It is not known when the Innovation Committee will be launched. Currently, only Chairman Choi Jae-hyung and lawmakers Chun Ha-ram and Jeong Hee-yong have been confirmed, and criticism continues for lack of gathering of opinions within the party, and the process of appointing members is said to have fallen into a stagnation, and it is reported that some personnel have refused to join the innovation committee. An official from the People’s Power said, “The top members who should recommend the innovation committee members seem to be paying attention.” He said, “It’s not going to drift indefinitely.

Even if the Innovation Committee is launched, there are also observations that it will be difficult to achieve clear results because it is facing backlash such as ‘controversy over privatization’ before setting the innovation agenda. Another official said, “They said they would revise the nomination system, which is the most sensitive topic, but it was confirmed that there was insufficient gathering of opinions with the leadership and senior officials. It will be difficult to avoid,” he predicted.
