“Persona” series composer Masaji Meguro announces that he is leaving ATLUS to devote himself to independent game development-Bahamut

ATLUS announced today (10/27) that the music creator Masaji Meguro, who has participated in the “Persona” series and many other ATLUS game scores, has left ATLUS as an independent creator at the end of September, but ATLUS will continue to work with He develops new works together, and at the same time supports and encourages the new challenges faced by Meguro Masaji, who has more room to play in the future.

Born in 1971 and 50 years old this year, Masashi Meguro is a music creator under ATLUS. He received music education from an early age and learned to play electronic piano. Actively participate in music activities in high school and college years. After graduating in 1995, he joined ATLUS. The first work he participated in was part of the music composition of the first generation of the “Persona” series launched in 1996. Later, he joined other music creators to participate in the composition of the “Goddess” series of IP works.

Since 2008, he has continued to participate in music performance activities as a guitarist of “PERSONA MUSIC LIVE BAND”.

Shogi Meguro has been interested in technology since he was young. He was involved in the production of handheld computer games during his college years. During his tenure, he was not only the director of game scores and sound effects, but also the production director. He started using “MegaRock“I used my pen name to develop games with Unreal Engine 4 in my spare time, and contributed to Kodansha’s first selection of “Game Creators’ Lab (GCL)” in September last year, and entered the final interview. Although he was not selected as the first-term student, he still received a special prize of 500,000 yen.

After further communication, Kodansha decided to create a separate category for Meguro Masaji, independent of the first-term GCL students, and provide further support. Details of the new work developed by Meguro Shoji will be officially revealed at the INDIE Live Expo Winter 2021 to be held on November 6th.
