Pfizer vaccinations for 18-49-year-olds who made a reservation on the 26th-29th of this month, regardless of location

Reservation rate for 10 sub-systems under 40 years old 61.3%… “Estimated 77% with previous inoculation-pre-booking included”

From the 26th of this month, the first week of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) vaccine for the general public aged 18 to 49, vaccination will be mainly carried out with Pfizer vaccine.

At a regular briefing on the 20th, the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (promotional team) said, “In the first week of the month, from the 26th to the 29th of this month, Pfizer vaccines will be used regardless of the region.”

Vaccinations for 18-49 year olds will be held at consigned medical institutions and vaccination centers nationwide from the 26th of this month to the 2nd of October.

They receive mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid) vaccines, such as Pfizer and Moderna, at intervals of 6 weeks.

The promotion team said, “Next week, Pfizer vaccines will be inoculated in general.” “Some consigned medical institutions are receiving Moderna vaccines for those in their 50s. For this purpose, the type may be changed depending on the situation of the inoculation institution on the same day.”

So far, about 61% of the 18-49 year olds have participated in advance reservations for vaccination.

The promotion team made a reservation for the ’10 subtitles’ based on the last digit of the date of birth on the resident registration from the 9th to 6 pm the previous day. .

The reservation rate compared to those subject to vaccination is about 61.3%.

By age group, those in their 40s had the highest reservation rate at 67.9%, followed by those in their 20s (60.6%), late teens (60.1%), and 30s (54.1%).

In the case of people in their 30s, the reservation rate for 10 sub-systems is relatively low, but the proportion of those who have already been vaccinated is high, the promotion team said.

Kim Ki-nam, head of the vaccination planning division of the promotion group, said, “If we analyze by age group of people aged 18 to 49 who have already been vaccinated, the proportion of those in their 30s is higher than those in their 20s and 40s.”

He continued, “The Janssen vaccine was given 1.1 million doses, and 800,000 doses seem to be related to the inoculation of males in their 30s. It is understood that people with a high intention to get vaccinated have the effect of having already been vaccinated.”

If you include those who have already been vaccinated or have made reservations through autonomous vaccination by each local government, it is expected that the actual vaccination participation rate of young people in their 40s and younger will be higher.

The promotion group said, “Out of a total of 22,415,000 people aged 18 to 49, 9.43 million people have pre-ordered,” and “If you consider the 8 million who have already been vaccinated or who have been vaccinated with other target groups, the expected participation rate compared to the actual population is 77%. level,” he said.

Those aged 18 to 49 can reserve the vaccination schedule by the 18th of the following month.

From 8 pm on the same day, 18-35 year olds (those born between January 1, 1986 and December 31, 2003) can make additional reservations. Anyone can select the desired vaccination date and institution.
