PG students only to treat patient brought in for kidney transplant; Report – Investigation report | Kidney Surgery Failure

Thiruvananthapuram: The investigation report states that non-compliance with the protocol requiring the presence of senior doctors since the patient was admitted to the hospital for surgery led to the death of the kidney recipient in the medical college.

Preliminary report by the Additional Chief Secretary of Health said that there were only PG students to treat the patient who was brought to the medical college for kidney transplant surgery. The report also said that it was a mistake not to appoint a head of the nephrology department in Delhi.

Communication was between doctors and their superiors in the urology and nephrology departments who were in the ambulance. There was not even security to receive the ambulance. According to the report, when the doctors came out with the cold box containing the kidneys, two people snatched it up and filmed it all in the video.
