New York ∙ Fokana Tribute to CPM Politburo Member and Secretary of State Kodiyeri (70). Fokana associate and president of Fokana Dr. Kodiyeri was a close friend of Babu Stephen.
Kodiyeri first took over as party secretary in 2015 when Pinarayi Vijayan resigned. Then in 2018, Kodiyeri was elected secretary in the conference held in Thrissur. In 2020, he left the post of secretary for a year due to illness. He returned to duty later. His illness worsened and he resigned in August.
Fokana President Dr Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said he has lost a talented leader, a good friend and a brother. Babu Stephen said. Secretary Kala Shaghi said that he could not believe the death of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and wished his soul eternal peace and shared his grief with Kerala and Phokana.
