PM Modi in Rome; Will meet with the Pope

Rome: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Rome, the capital of Italy. This is Modi’s first visit to Rome. An Indian Prime Minister arrives in Rome 12 years later. Prime Minister Modi is in Rome to attend the G20 summit on May 30 and 31. This is his first visit to the Italian capital since taking office, said Nina Malhotra, India’s ambassador to Italy.

After arriving in Rome, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Gandhi statue at 3.30 pm. The two sides will then meet with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi at 5.30 p.m.

Modi will meet Pope Francis at 8.30 am on Saturday at the Vatican. The visit will be to the Pope’s Library Hall. The Christian community in India is eagerly awaiting their meeting. The Christian community is waiting for the news of Modi’s invitation to Pope Francis to visit India. He also prayed that the Pope’s visit to India would be a success.

Pope John Paul II last visited India. He came to Kerala in 1986. In 1999, he visited India again. Had met Vajpayee. In 2000, Vajpayee visited the Pope at the Vatican. The first pope to visit India was Paul VI in 1964.

In Glasgow, UK, Prime Minister Modi will speak on the need to comprehensively address climate change issues, including the equal distribution of carbon space. In Rome, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 16th G20 Summit and join G20 leaders in discussions on global economic and health recovery from sustainable development and climate change.

The summit starts on Saturday. Ahead of his visit to Italy to attend the G20 summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he would discuss global economic and health recovery from the epidemic in Rome. After visiting Rome and Vatican City, Prime Minister Modi will later travel to the UK.

He said in a statement before the meeting that the meeting would allow the G20 to review the current global situation and exchange ideas on how grouping can strengthen economic resistance and be an engine for a comprehensive and sustainable recovery from the epidemic.

In Glasgow, the Prime Minister, along with 120 heads of state and government from around the world, will attend a high-level meeting of the World Leaders Summit (WLS) on November 1 and 2.

Climate change is the main issue

Climate change will be the main topic of discussion at the G20 summit in Italy on the 30th and 31st of this month. The UN wants the G20 countries to keep their promise of $ 10,000 billion to help poor countries prevent global warming. G20 members are responsible for 80 percent of the carbon dioxide emissions caused by climate change.

The heads of state of China and Russia will not attend the summit. Foreign Minister Wang Yi will represent China at the conference. Turkey is also absent from the conference due to diplomatic issues. India, US, Australia and France will participate. This is the first time France, Australia and the United States have come together on a platform since the problems following Australia’s withdrawal from the submarine agreement.

Meanwhile, a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Pope Francis, who is scheduled to attend the summit, will take place on Friday, October 29th.
