Estimated at the cost of leading the passage of the Seongnam-do open construction plan during the days of Seongnam mayor
(Suwon = Yonhap News) Reporter Choi Jong-ho Kim Sol = The police have frozen the 80 million won that Choi Yoon-gil received from Hwacheon Daeyu in exchange for helping develop Daejang-dong, Seongnam-si while he was the chairman of the Seongnam City Council.
The Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency’s investigation team (team leader Gwang-sik Kim) in charge of the allegation of Daejang-dong applied for an order to preserve the additional charges before indictment, and the court announced on the 20th that it was cited on the 19th.
Preservation of additional collections is a procedure that freezes profits suspected of having been obtained through a crime until the defendants are convicted.
Choi took the lead in passing the ordinance on the establishment of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, which became the starting point of the development of Daejang-dong, in February 2013, when he was the chairman of the Seongnam City Council.
After resigning from the chairperson position, he is accused of agreeing to receive 4 billion won in bonuses from Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, while serving as an executive of Hwacheon Daewoo in exchange for leading the passage of the ordinance bill.
The police suspect that the amount of compensation Choi received from Hwacheon Daeyu as part of this bonus is part of this bonus.
The police are continuing the investigation while arresting Choi on charges of bribery after illegal treatment on the 18th.
Choi is the first related suspect arrested after the police launched an investigation into Daejang-dong.
A police official said, “We will conduct a strict investigation in accordance with procedures and principles so that no doubts remain regarding the remaining suspicions related to Daejangdong.”
