Police investigate gunshot that hit Alliance Hospital

The Civil Police is investigating the origin of a shot that hit a unit at Hospital Aliança, in Salvador. The shooting would have occurred last Thursday (20) during a shootout between police and drug dealers in the Northeast neighborhood of Amaralina. A civilian police officer was injured in the action.

Sought by CORREIO, the hospital’s advisory reported that the case is ‘researched by the competent bodies’.

The projectile was found by an employee and would have gone through the wall of the women’s locker room. There are no reports of injuries.

The origin of the shot is still being investigated. Last Thursday, a civil police officer was shot in the arm during an exchange of fire.

According to the Civil Police, the case happened in the region known as “Campo do Arial”. The injured police officer was taken to the State General Hospital (HGE). There is no information about his health status.

Scared, merchants in the region closed the doors of establishments. Teams from the Special Rounds (Rondesp), Operation Apolo, the Tactical Employment Platoon (PETO), the 41st Independent Company of the Military Police (CIPM) and the 7th Territorial Police Station (DT) of Rio Vermelho carried out an operation to arrest the suspects. There is no information about the arrest.
