The police have started to check the facts about the alleged drug use of Jeon Woo-won (27), the grandson of former President Chun Doo-hwan.

An official from the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency said in a regular meeting on the 20th, “I know that a video of suspected drug use has emerged in the current pre-investigation (internal investigation) state.” .

In response to the question, “If Mr. Jeon is converted to questionable status, can he pursue forced return?” The police said, “We can only see whether to return after the criminal facts are established.”

Jeon was taken to the hospital after appearing to take drugs during a live broadcast on a social network service (SNS) at dawn on the 17th (Korea time).

Police said they are conducting an internal investigation, such as applying for a search and seizure warrant for the social media account of the person Jeon mentioned in relation to drug use. Regarding the suspicion of sex crimes, he said, “If necessary, we will proceed with the investigation.”

Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Unit will summon and investigate actor Yoo Ah-in (37, real name Um Hong-shik) on the 24th as a suspect for violating the Narcotics Control Act (eg drunkenness).
