Kwon Do-hyung (32), CEO of Terraform Labs, a key figure in the virtual currency ‘Terra Luna crash’, turned the Montenegrin political world upside down.

This is as suspicions arise that Kwon, who was arrested here, sponsored political money to an influential politician who was mentioned as a candidate for the next prime minister. Montenegrin general elections will be held on the 11th.

According to local media such as Montenegro’s largest daily newspaper, ‘Byesty’ on the 8th local time, Prime Minister Dritan Abazovich held a press conference the day before and revealed that he had received a letter from CEO Kwon.

Prime Minister Abazovich insisted that Kwon’s handwritten letter contained information that he had sponsored political funds to Miloko Spice, head of the “Europe Now Movement.” CEO Kwon said he has a relationship with CEO Spiichi since 2018.

It is known that Kwon sent such a letter not only to Prime Minister Abazovich, but also to Justice Minister Marko Kovac and the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

Prime Minister Abazovich urged the Office of the Special Prosecutor to launch an investigation to discover the truth.

‘Europe Now’ is a new political party founded in June last year, but it is running first in approval ratings ahead of the general elections due to be held on the 11th.

Following the prominence in the local elections held in October last year, four months after its establishment, the presidential election in April this year created a sensation by electing former Economy Minister Jacob Milatovic as president.

Representative Spiichi is being discussed as a strong candidate for the next prime minister.

As the controversy grew, in early 2018, in the early days of Terraform Labs, Spiichi drew a line saying that it was true that he and the company he worked for had invested in Terraform Labs, but that the doubt that he had received political money from CEO Kwon was unfounded. .

Spice, who served as Montenegro’s finance minister, is not expected to go down easily given that he has been actively supporting the virtual asset industry. He even predicted that the blockchain industry could account for 30% of Montenegro’s economy within three years.

Representative Spiichi protested that he was able to capture Kwon by providing information to the authorities, but Interior Minister Philippe Adjich denied that he had ever received such information.

Instead, Minister Adzić went on the offensive, saying, “I have information that CEO Spiichi met Kwon Do-hyeong in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia,” and “it was even said that it was a family atmosphere. ” At the same time, suspicion arose, saying, “At the time, Kwon Do-hyung was receiving an Interpol red notice. We even know the name of the street where the two met in Belgrade.”

He said, “The laptop seized from Kwon Do-hyung contains evidence of political financial support.”

German media outlets previously raised suspicions that the luxury apartment in Serbia where Kwon stayed before being captured in Montenegro belonged to Spici.

If the content of CEO Kwon’s letter is true, it is very likely that he received help from CEO Spici in fleeing to Serbia and Montenegro.

Meanwhile, the next trial against Kwon will be held at the District Court in Podgorica on the 16th.
