Politics should be kept away from cricket; India-Pakistan cricket boards should join hands

Rameez Raja said the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dubai had discussed the 2023 Asia Cup to be hosted by Pakistan and had given permission for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) tournament to be held in September 2023 as a 50-over tournament. “If the tournament is held in an ODI style, it will be a great preparation for the Asian teams preparing for the ICC ODI World Cup in October and November of the same year,” Raja said.

Rameez Raja’s reaction comes as India face Pakistan on October 24 in the T20 World Cup. Earlier in the day, Union Minister Giriraj Singh had said that the India-Pakistan World Cup match should be reconsidered in the wake of the violence in Jammu and Kashmir. However, BCCI sources said that it could not be withdrawn as it was an ICC tournament.
