According to Nielsen Korea, an audience rating research company on the 24th, the 14th episode of TV Chosun’s Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Uncle’, which aired on January 23, recorded an audience rating of 9.3% based on pay TV households nationwide. This surpassed the previous highest rating of 8.8% recorded by episode 13.
‘Uncle’ started on the 11th of last month with a rating of 2.4%. After that, it immediately increased to 5% in the 3rd episode, followed by 6.3% in the 8th episode. After that, it recorded 7.9% in the 9th and 8.3% in the 12th, showing a continuous upward trend. The 16-episode ‘Uncle’ is seeing double-digit viewership ratings ahead of its ending.
‘Uncle’ is a drama depicting the comical fun growth and survival of an uncle, a trash loser musician who took on his niece in elementary school because of his sister’s clear divorce. With a screenplay and directing that provokes laughter, tears, and emotion, it became a word of mouth as a ‘healing drama’.
