Abu Dhabi: Action taken against men and women for uploading video clips that violate public morals on social media. The Federal Public Prosecution (UAE Federal Public Prosecution) has ordered the arrest of two people who released pornographic videos through their Snapchat account. The prosecution said the two had circulated the video on social media, which contained actions and words that violated the country’s online laws and social norms.
The video clip, which caught the attention of social media, was first checked by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The investigating agency then submitted the report to the state attorney general. Social media accounts and posts related to the two were identified. With this, the Attorney General directed to take legal action against both of them.
Prosecutors said the proceedings were being completed before the case could be transferred to court. The Attorney General said that the law in the UAE guarantees the protection of public decency, tradition and social characteristics. He warned that violators would face severe punishment in the country.
