President Biden, Putin may dismiss some advisers or house arrest-Bloomberg

US President Joe Biden said on March 31 that Russian President Vladimir Putin may have dismissed some advisors or put him in custody at home, and Mr Putin was informed of the Russian military’s war situation in Ukraine. “It’s controversial,” he said.

“There are signs that some of our advisers have been dismissed or put under house arrest,” Biden told reporters at the White House. “But at this point I don’t want to trust this too much, because there isn’t much solid evidence,” he said.

In an interview, Russian Presidential Administration spokesman Peskov pointed out that President Biden’s remarks were “a typical example of disinformation by the head of state.” When asked if it meant Mr. Biden, not Mr. Putin, that wasn’t fully informed, he replied, “That’s right.”

So far, the gap between President Putin and senior advisers has been suggested by the US government and allies. Russia’s defense minister, Sergei Shoigu, has rarely appeared in public for the past month, calling for speculation that he may have clashed with Mr Putin.

President Biden added that “there is a lot of speculation” about how much information has been communicated to Mr Putin about the war situation in Ukraine, and Mr Putin “seems to be in a’self-quarantine’state.” He also said he was skeptical of the Russian military’s allegations that he was curtailing invasion operations.
