President Moon Jae-in says 70% of the population will complete the second dose in October

[앵커]

Today (16th), the last day of the Liberation Day holiday, as of 00:00, the number of new corona19 patients is expected to reach 1,500. It is possible to break the record for most Sundays in one week. As the fourth pandemic continues to spread, President Moon Jae-in said yesterday that “70% of the population will complete the second vaccination by October.” Although it is still not possible to secure sufficient vaccines on time, such as disruptions in the supply and demand of moderns and vaccines, it is again an optimistic outlook.

By 9 o’clock last night, 1429 people were additionally confirmed.

As of 00:00 today, the number of new confirmed cases is expected to be around 1500.

The previous record for the most on Sunday was 1491 on the 8th, and there is a possibility that the record will be broken again in a week.

The average daily number of confirmed cases last week was 1853, more than 200 more than the previous week’s 1635.

The number of confirmed cases in the metropolitan area, which once dropped to the low 800s, rose to four digits on the 11th.

During the last holiday season, the number of confirmed cases in the metropolitan area increased again, and the spread was strong nationwide.

In his Liberation Day congratulatory address, President Moon Jae-in has advanced the timing of achieving 70% of the population vaccinated by one month.

As of 00:00 on the 15th, there were 9,735,000 people who completed the second vaccination.

It is only 19% of the total population.

In order for 70% of the nation to receive the second dose of 36 million by October, more than 26.26 million people will need to receive an additional dose in the remaining two-and-a-half months.

The government is in the position that there will be no problems if the vaccine is supplied as scheduled.

However, the possibility of a supply-demand problem again, such as a disruption in the supply of modern or vaccines, and the reservation rate for young adults that do not meet expectations can be important variables.
