President Moon “Response to the climate crisis, consider developing countries, and the G20 should dedicate more”

President Moon Jae-in, who is visiting Rome, Italy to attend the G20 summit of 20 major countries, said, “The G20 should make more commitment to responding to the climate crisis and provide support in consideration of the plight of developing countries.”

President Moon attended the third session (Sustainable Development) of the G20 Summit program held at the Nuvola Convention Center in Rome on the 31st of last month local time and said, “It is necessary to close the gap between people and people, and between countries, to create a global village of solidarity and cooperation and to create a sustainable We will be able to achieve our development goals,” he said.

Currently, scientists and developed countries are urging developing countries to respond more aggressively to climate change, but developing countries such as China and India are arguing that it is more important to focus on achieving their existing greenhouse gas reduction goals while supporting poor countries that are vulnerable to climate change.

President Moon’s message appears to be his will to lead the response to climate change by acting as a bridge between developed and developing countries with differing positions.

President Moon said, “People-centered and fair transition should be a top priority in the digital and green transition. I will,” he emphasized.

In September, President Moon visited New York as a ‘Presidential Special Envoy for Future Generations and Culture’ by BTS and gave a speech with President Moon at the ‘Sustainable Development Goals High-Level Meeting (SDG Moment)’ event. For example, he said, “The main character of sustainable development is the future generation.”

President Moon said, “I am confident that young people will be able to do things that previous generations could not,” he added.
