The results of a poll on the 13th showed that President Moon Jae-in’s approval rating for state affairs had fallen to the mid-30s level for the first time in three months.

As a result of a Gallup Korea survey on the 10th and 12th on 1,002 people aged 18 and over nationwide on the 13th, the positive evaluation of President Moon’s job performance fell 5 percentage points to 36%, down 5 percentage points from the previous week. Since last June, the approval rating has recovered to around 40%, but has fallen again to the mid-30% range.

It is the first time in a month since the third week of July (38%) that President Moon’s approval ratings reached the 30% level. Negative ratings were 53%, up 2 percentage points from the previous week. ‘Neither’ was 4% and ‘don’t know/rejected’ was 7%.

Gallup Korea said, “This week’s decline in the approval rate of the president’s job was notable for those in their 20s and 30s, shamans, and people who were not interested in politics (respondents who were usually ‘not interested in politics at all’).” As a result, it seems that some voters, who had previously thought of making a save, turned to a reserved position.”

By age, 18-29 year olds (20s) had the lowest positive evaluation of President Moon at 27%. Those in their 40s were the highest at 57%. In addition, 34% of those in their 30s, 40% of those in their 50s, and 29% of those in their 60s and over showed support.

As for the negative evaluation, 55% in their 20s, 51% in their 30s, 39% in their 40s, 54% in their 50s, and 60% in their 60s and older.

Party support was found to be 33% for the Democratic Party of Korea, 28% for People’s Power, and 24% for the non-partisan group without a supporting party. Compared to the previous week, the Democratic Party decreased by 1 percentage point and the People’s Strength by 2 percentage points, respectively.

The Justice Party and the Open Democratic Party each accounted for 5 percent, the People’s Party 4 percent, and the other parties and organizations combined accounted for 1 percent.

The margin of error in this survey is ±3.1 percentage points at the 95% confidence level. For more information, visit the Gallup Korea website or the website of the National Election Opinion Survey Deliberation Committee.
