President Yoon’s approval rating is back to 20%… “Each visit has the opposite effect” [갤럽]

A survey by Gallup Korea showed that the evaluation that President Yoon Seok-yeol was doing well in state affairs fell again to the 20% level and the negative evaluation rose to the 60% level.

As a result of a Gallup Korea survey of 1,000 adults nationwide from the 20th to the 22nd, the positive evaluation that President Yoon was doing well was 28%, and the negative evaluation that he was not doing well recorded 61%.

Although it is within the margin of error, the positive rate has fallen by 5 percentage points since last week, and the negative rate shows a trend of rising by 2 percentage points.

The positive evaluation of President Yoon’s job performance recovered to the 30% level in about two months last week, and then fell back to the 20% level within a week.

In this survey, lack of experience, lack of qualifications and incompetence were the most common reasons for negative evaluation in this survey (12%), followed by failure to care for the economy and people’s livelihood (10%).

Compared to last week, ‘relocation of the president’s office and hotel’ rose by 5 percentage points as a cause of negative evaluation, and ‘diplomacy’ and ‘lack of communication’ also increased by 3 percentage points, respectively.

On the other hand, in terms of reasons for positive evaluation, hard work and best efforts were recorded at 9%, defense and security at 7%, and diplomacy at 6%.
