President Yoon visited Doosan Energy, a nuclear power plant company in Changwon, Gyeongnam on the morning of the same day and said, “It is very unfortunate that the nuclear power plant industry, which needs to be developed further, has faced difficulties for several years, and should be corrected now.”

The visit was in line with the promise that he would visit Jinyoung TBX, a nuclear power plant parts company in Changwon, in April, when President Yoon was elected, to take care of the nuclear power plant industry and revisit related sites.

President Yoon said, “Our nuclear power plant is recognized for its world-class technological prowess and stability.” competitiveness,” he said.

“This competitiveness was not built overnight,” he praised, saying, “It is the result of all of you here who have built a solid ecosystem for the nuclear power industry over decades.”

President Yoon pointed out, “I wonder if they would have made such a decision if the people involved in the plan to phase out nuclear power had seen all these enormous facilities larger than Yeouido and toured the industrial ecosystem and sites in the area.”

“The door to the nuclear power plant export market has been wide open,” he said.

President Yoon also aimed at the Moon Jae-in government’s nuclear-free policy. He criticized, “If we didn’t do stupid things for five years and built a more robust nuclear power plant ecosystem, there probably wouldn’t be a competitor now.”

“The major countries around the world are competing fiercely for leadership in the future nuclear power plant market,” he added.

At Doosan Energy, President Yoon announced on the same day that Shin-Hanul Units 3 and 4 nuclear reactor casting materials (forged metal materials for making nuclear pressure vessels), Shin-Kori Unit 6 reactor head (upper part), and a 17,000-ton press facility were installed at the forging plant.
